Thanks to the support of our loyal Peruvian Hearts family. You're support allows us to continue to grow and help even more deserving young women in Peru. We are grateful to each of our donors and supporters who continue to invest in the young women of Peru. We are proud of the personal growth our scholars continue to demonstrate while forging ahead in their academic careers.
We are excited to welcome our newest PH scholar, Patricia, to the Peruvian Hearts family and bringing the total current number of PH scholars supported to 38. Patricia studies Business Administration at the National University in Cusco and recently started her 5th semester (of 10). She dreams to transform the lives of her family and rural communities in Cusco by creating better access to markets and helping commercialize and industrialize local raw matierials use to make sustainable products. After university, Patricia wants to become an entrepreneur and change the world through sustainable business practicies with a focus on social and environmental responsibility. She notes that her strongest characteristic is her resilience and we are excited to watch Patricia grow and blossom during her time as a Peruvian Hearts scholar.
In early September, seven PH scholars were formally welcomed into PH during a meaningful candlelighting ceremony in Cusco. With their parents or a representative in attendance, the seven PH scholars being initiated, who joined Peruvian Hearts between 2021 and 2022, received a special lit candle along with positive words of love and encouragement from their parents as they became offical Peruvian Hearts scholars. This long standing, meaningufl Peruvian Hearts tradition is significant and carries important sentimental value for our PH scholars and their families. We are proud of these seven young ladies for their ongoing desire to grow as strong leaders, independent women and great professionals, who will go out and pay it forward.
Thanks to the support of our generous PH donors, we can continue to provide our 38 PH scholars with the comprehensive level of support that enables them to become educated and empowered women, poised with the confidence to go out into the world as agents of change. Armed with education, confidence, and values such as paying it forward, these strong and resilient leaders will help transform the future of Peru for generations to come.
