A quick look at what's shaking at Guatemala Housing Alliance: This month we laid our 166th floor. !!!!. The change from dirt to cement radically changes the comfort and ambiance of that many homes, while keeping families healthier. Thanks to those who have donated specifically for this.
As our attention has shifted more to education from construction (we built 47 whole houses before Covid pounced!), we have been able to expand our offerings. We sponsor many students, and offer both workshops and tutoring to all of them. This year we have been able to add preschool classrooms, just this month adding another in San Pablo La Laguna, Solola`. This is a particularly important head start for these kids who otherwise might begin school having heard only Tz'utujil spoken at home, then have to face only Spanish in school.
