Mission

Our aim is to put Christian love into action in a practical and compassionate way among children who are vulnerable and in desperate need. Working with children up to the age of18 years, the objectives of our work may be summarized as: Provision Protection Preparation

Programs

Since 2001 Vision Africa has worked on establishing and supporting projects including 2 children's homes, an abandoned baby unit, 2 schools for children with special needs, feeding and sponsorship programmes for schools in slums and rural hardship areas and 4 vocational training centres for destitute teenage girls as well as a slum football project in Kibera. In 2008 we set up a resettlement programme assisting around 150 families affected by the post-election violence.

Personnel Overview

Lucy Nyakeru - Baby Unit Senior Mother
Lucy has worked in the baby unit for 2yrs and in the children’s home for 6yrs. She has indispensable experience in motherhood as a mother of 8 children herself. She oversees the daily running of the activities in the baby unit including: -Ensuring all children are well fed -Ensuring all children are dry at all times -Reporting cases of illness to the nurse -Ensuring general cleanliness

Mary Mwangi - Assistant Administrator
Mary has worked in the children’s home for 7 months. She doesn’t deal directly with the children but sees to it that all necessary roles are played daily by those who are in charge of the baby unit. Duties include: - Fundraising for baby unit items - Sensitizing the local community about the existence of the unit - Dealing with government offices
