Salariin Kampuchea is to supply children and young adults in Siem Reap with English language, Chinese and computer literacy classes and community library programme to help them improvement their knowledge and gain work experience. Over the last three months there have been many positive changing activities and achievements within our organization, which continues to work hard to make a positive impact in the community.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Playground Setting Up
In December 2023, we started to set up our playground project for our students, children and teenagers in order to improve child friendly school environment.
As a result, we bought trampolines, kids slide, swings and other toys for kids to play in our playground. The playground set up has been finished by end of December 2023 and it has been used and played by our children in the beginning of the year 2024. In our playground, children are allowed to play toys for 20 minutes before and after their class. They are very happy and enjoyed it very much. They can make friends with others from different classesthat they never know them before.
For example, our student, Mesa, one of our children in kindergarten class. She mentioned her feeling about playground. “I am so very exciting to play our playground. Actually, it makes me happy when I play with my friends. When I feel boring, then I can come and play it and then I feel relaxed and forget my stress”.
Flag poles
In many NGO schools have not been install flag poles for children to obey national anthem and sing it. It is not just to respect to national flag and anthem but also it is attractive and look nice for parents and children for school environment manner. In the beginning of 2024, Asian community flags and poles have been installed in our learning center. It makes our school nicer and fitter as well as more attractive of the brand name.
Christmas and New Year 2024 Celebration
On the 25th December 2023, we, teachers, children and teenagers in our school enjoyed celebration the Christmas and the New Year 2024. They gather together from different classes and they sang songs of Christmas songs “ Jingle Bells”. All teachers and students danced happily. With a great decoration of Santa Claus and horses and other animals made the great celebration.
Our student, Sophaya, one of our children in kindergarten class. She mentioned her feeling about Christmas celebration. “I am so very very happy to sing a song” Jingle Bells” with my friends. My schools always celebrate it every year. We dance and do action together with my teachers and my friends. After dance, our teachers gave us candy and drink. It is very cheerful”.
In the next three months, we are going to conduct English Public Speaking Contest. We are going to celebrate Khmer New Year and give appreciation letters to outstanding students.
