Be! an Entrepreneur is a multimedia skills education initiative to teach children in India, who live in poverty, entrepreneurial skills so they can use their education to transform their lives. 10 epic movies, 50 books (each teaches an entrepreneurial skill) and a 15 part radio series to inspire millions of young people from low-income groups in India to choose to become entrepreneurs and to pioneer enterprises that solve the social, economic and environmental problems they face in their lives.
In 2020 there will be over 210 million unemployed people in India, 50% will be below the age of 30 and currently half of them are dropping out of school. And, even if they are staying in school, they are not learning skills to be able to create their own opportunities. Entrepreneurship is imperative to fill this gap. Targeting children from families living on less than 2 USD/day, i.e. 41% of India, BE! gives girls and boys the entrepreneurial skills they need to fulfill their potential.
50 Be! books - each teaching an entreprenurial skill & makes 'going to school' relevant to employment - encouraging India's poorest children to stay in school to learn entrepreneurial skills that will help them get a job, or 'create a job' by choosing to become entrepreneurs. 10 Be! epic movies & 15 Be! radio shows on national and regional channels and inspire young people to start a business that solves a problem where they live.
Be! will reach over 50 million girls over the next 5 years through schools, TV and radio networks. Be! makes girls realise they already have the skills to create sustainable business models that change the world.
Be! inspires millions of girls to believe in their potential to change their lives & the world around them, by choosing to become entrepreneurs. It is our most exciting and important project ever
