Better Family Foundation's Child Sponsor Project has taken off swiftly and very productively! We are incredibly happy and proud with this newest project's achievements thus far.
First! BFF worked with the Delegates of Basic and Secondary Education in order to identify the most vulnerable and marginalized children within our sub-division's school system. Because there are many dire circumstances here we urged them to identify vulnerable children who show an excellent scholastic aptitude. After making these request we received two documents with nearly 250 names on it. Overwhelming.
Next! In order to begin to address and plan how we should navigate the project's potential limitations we realized we must identify possible pitfalls. At this moment the most pressing limitation is funding. So in order to effectively balance our preciously donated money and stretch it as far as possible we realized transportation costs could become incredibly prohibitive should we begin to travel to the far sides of the sub-division in order to screen and interview children. So, we decided to nearly eliminate transportation costs by limiting the students screened to neighboring villages to our office. We're really trying to sponsor as many children as possible!
Then! With the terrific help of a short-term BFF volunteer we were able to interview approximately 45 children! We have created background profiles that can be found at: http://bffgive.webs.com/thechildren.htm . We're trying to tailor this project to our donors wishes. Meaning-- should a donor enjoy the idea of having a more direct relationship with the child they sponsor we'll help forge the connection. If others would rather to simply give the necessary funding to send children to school-- that is wonderful too! So! Your friends may browse the children we're hoping to sponsor-- contingent funding from your help!
Now! We've raised $245. That should send at least two secondary school children and one primary school student to school. We're eagerly waiting from more donations so all of the children identified can attend school!
Thank you for your help! We look forward to your continued support!
Some inspirational words: “If you need help I will be ready to give you help as well.” said 9 year old Quinceline to her potential sponsor about the future.
