Provide child care, education, and improved health and sanitation for boys and girls in India. Educate girls about their rights.
The condition of children is characterized by a systemic pattern of gross gender inequity. The situtation is worse for rural girls. The number of girls living in poverty has increased disproportionately to the number of boys living in such poverty, due to girls' limited access to education, health, hygiene, nutrition, and skills training. They also get less exposure to learning and culture, and are subjected to rigid, socially-ascribed rules.
Run 10 informal education centers for dropouts and non-dropouts in 10 villages. Immunization and vaccination, including against hepatitis-B, for 500 children. Orientation of 10 women teachers. Provide visits to cultural and historical sights.
