This is a WaterCredit success story from a village in India. This is
NOT from the current project, but from a completed project in a
nearby village. The current project listed on Global Giving is
similar to the one featured in this article, by procedure
and also location.
This simply serves an example of how lives are changed through WaterPartners WaterCredit projects.

Through the WaterCredit loan process WaterPartners' India partner organization has dispersed loans to 396 individuals in Berhampur, Aska and other nearby regions for household toilets and water connections. To date, this accounts for only about 30% of the anticipated loans to be dispersed. Additional funding can assist WaterPartners in completing 100% of the loans desired by members
of these communities.
Our India partner has followed up with all individuals seeking loans
to confirm loans are being used for the agreed up on water and sanitation purposes and to monitor and ensure quality construction.
The work of WaterPartners International could not be done without the assistance of our in-country partner organizations. Their involvement is even more imperative with MicroCredit projects, as they must manage the loan funds, disperse the individual loans to community members and oversee loan repayment and construction procedures for every single project. As this particular WaterCredit initiative support hundreds of individual projects, this update focuses on the loan process and construction procedures which in the end provide each household with the water and/or sanitation facilities they desire.
