Every child has the right to education, yet several million children in Angola still do not have the chance to go to school. Your gifts make a difference in giving more kids access to education. Participation in GlobalGiving's July Bonus Day wonderfully multiplied the impact - $8,000 was donated to RISE, with an additional $3,000 in matching funds from GlobalGiving (the max for each organization), totaling $11,000 raised! The $775 in gifts given during the Little x Little campaign in September, received $312 in matching funds, totaling $1088!
We continue to raise funds for the school at Lalula, which is nearing completion. Children are excited, knowing they will be able to attend in actual classrooms. Construction of primary schools is a foundational intervention, giving children access to education. RISE-built schools are beautiful, quality structures, where children can concentrate and learn, sheltered from wind, rain, and cold. They are centrally located within the community, with bathrooms and access to clean water, creating inclusive and equitable places of protection and safety.
Over 141,000 children are in class each year because RISE built a school in their village or town! Yet there are hundreds of children without a school in many locations, including places where we have already built – the need is overwhelming. Your gifts make a difference - many thanks!
