New Life is happy to announce that 887 (cumulative figure from August 1999) child labour children who were taught in the special schools have been admitted to regular schools. This year 65 children are admitted to the regular schools in their nearby locality. These children are trained in academics and motivated to face the other children who are well equipped. Counseling was given to these children to face the world with courage.
Mr. Manikandan is now doing his post graduation in Physics and he is proud that he is the first graduate from his village Alamarathupatti. He was working in mat weaving industry and the New Life special school teacher identified him and motivated him to attend the special school. It was very difficult to convince the parents as they had to loose a share of family income. But once he was allowed, Manikandan proved his ability and scored 93% in the School final exams and is now doing his Post graduation. The pride is not only for Mr. Manikandan, but also for the organization as it is a milestone to the impact it makes in the community we work. Below is the picture of Manikandan with his loving special school teacher.
We thank all our supporters who made it possible. Help us nurture many more Manikandans who are disallowed to enjoy their rights.
Donors are always welcome to visit our projects and meet the children and interact with them directly. Are you interested?
