It is with excitement that I share this update and photos from the school. The girls are very excited and proud to be receiving the computer training. For them this is a dream that they never believed would come true. This is so very significant as it is helping them to realize that they are valuable and that everything is possible. Thank YOU so much for helping us place value on them and their educational and psychological development.A picture is truly worth a thousand words - so included in this update are several photos and a link to a Flickr photo album where you can see many photos - http://bit.ly/da-fawe-girls. We also put together a video showing some of the girls available here - http://bit.ly/fawe-gemsAs you may already know, this project is participating in the Girl Effect Challenge, running through November 15. The top 6 projects in terms of individual donations will be admitted into the Girl Effect (http://www.girleffect.org ) for 1 year. This is a huge opportunity that together will help us increase the hours of training provided and purchase additional equipment. Please help us secure one of the top positions by doing the following:
1. Making a donation of $10 or more today2. Inviting your friends and family members to donate. To give emphasis to this important cause, we have created a new site here - http://www.educateafricangirls.net. The site contains resources on this challenge, how you can help and a link to this page that show how you can fundraise for this project on GlobalGiving. This would help us expand the number of hours and provide this opportunity to many more. Imagine hundreds of girls being trained! Now help us make this a reality.... Thanks for your support.
Project Reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you will get an e-mail when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports via e-mail without donating or by subscribing to this project's RSS feed.
