Project Report | Feb 27, 2023
18 young people were awarded scholarships

By Ariana Galan | Project Leader

During the year 2022, social inequalities, the reduction of educational opportunities and the lack of interest in education on the part of young people have been a cause for concern in our Organization.

After a period of pandemic, schools are returning to the classroom, but the level of enrollment continues to decline. According to the 2022 National Survey on Living Conditions (ENCOVI), 1.5 million children and teenagers are still outside the education system.

We believe that breaking the social gaps and stimulating the economic development of our country depends on the skills of our young people. For this reason, we have devised the Skills for Youth Employment Program. A training that comprises four integral areas; important for individual and social transformation, being these: Human, Labor, Technological and Learning Skills. In order to increase their competencies and be able to offer a response to an environment of vulnerability and demand.

Angely is one of our participants in the Skills for Youth Employment program. She lives in Block 4 of 23 de enero parish and, like very few young people, decided to complete her high school studies. Today she is in her fifth year at Colegio Divino Maestro.

"The impact that the training had on me, was personal, it helped me in many aspects of my life and clarified many things regarding my future. It gave me many tools to apply in a future job and public speaking, such as the confidence I have right now."

"The desire to acquire tools for the future, both personal and work-related, were my motivation to opt for this training," expresses Angely, a graduate of our Youth Employment Skills Program.

Between the months of September and December served 62 people in this program in our Superatec headquarters located in the parishes of Antímano and Catia, and thanks to the donations received, we were able to grant scholarships to 18 participants like Angely. Young people who want to be trained, integrated into the labor market, participate in social activities and, most importantly, be an example of overcoming for other hopeless young people without a life project.

Our young graduates currently have employability skills and human skills for their interrelation in academic and business spaces. In addition to skills for the design and materialization of their ventures in the future.

Our commitment as an organization is to strengthen the capabilities of young people through technology and knowledge to consolidate their employability or entrepreneurship.

Today we invite you to create with us opportunities for young people through education.
