Bowling and skating for a cause is a creative and fun way our young women’s leadership team works to bring community together. Each year WHS hosts an annual event in partnership with the National Network of Abortion Funds to raise money for our Women In Need Fund. The fund provides practical support to help remove barriers for folks who are seeking abortion care throughout California and beyond. That includes covering the cost of childcare, lodging, gas, food, transportation and more.

This year our 80’s themed bowling night and 70’s themed skate night was a great success! The event allowed our supporters, staff, and local allies to come together in a fun and exciting way to strike down barriers to abortion access. Folks wore their best costumes, created fun teams and brought the energy! This year we had a photo booth and people loved the custom props that our outreach team designed and printed. They included bold sayings around abortion access and reproductive rights such as “Abortion Justice Now”.

Through organizing this event our leadership team developed partnerships with local businesses and organizations to secure donations and sponsors in support of the Women In Need Fund. They successfully received several prizes donated, desserts and donations that made this event possible. Through their community outreach they are busting abortion stigma, creating new connections and keeping reproductive freedom at the front.

With your continued support of our Young Women’s Leadership Project, we invest in the lives of these women who are unapologetically making change to secure reproductive rights for all. Thank you for keeping us strong.

With care,
