Green Rhinos start nature conservation projects!

Green Rhinos Leaders training in Sundarbans

Dear Donor,

We are excited to let you know that 30 Green Rhinos from Maipith and K-Plot islands in Sundarbans and 14 Green Rhinos in Kolkata have received leadership training. They have designed projects which they are conducting with their fellow students/ friends. The projects the Green Rhinos have taken up include:

Planting over 4000 tree saplings in Sundarbans
Inventory of animals and birds in a cluster of Sundarbans villages
Garbage clean up in a cluster of Sundarbans villages
Educating over 1500 people in Kolkata about the wise use of plastic bags
Anti-littering education campaign and installing dustbins in strategic areas in Kolkata through their own fund-raising
Creating Green Rhinos in a tea garden community in Assam.

The Program is being well received by the youth, the parents, school teachers and the community. We look forward to creating many, many more Green Rhinos and together making a positive impact on nature conservation in the days to come.
