Training and teaching Indian individuals Responsible Childcare so many social, psychological and physical injuries to children will be prevented and the spread of HIV/AIDS can be impacted.
In a research study ‘Risk Factors for Severe Child Discipline in Rural India,’ child abuse is near 50%. Psychological abuse 49.5%. Physical abuse 42.5%. In another study, 2 of 4 girls and 1 of 6 boys are sexually abused before 16. India has one of the fastest growing HIV/AIDS populations. It is important to offer education in all of these areas to individuals caring for children so they will teach and guide children properly. Project should impact over 600,000 people in 1 to 2 years.
• Develop training films and manuals • Train trainers to train others to teach Responsible Childcare • Teach Responsible Childcare with segments on preventive healthcare, HIV/AIDS & family planning • Classes: 12 students, 2 hours/week for 8 weeks
Research shows childcare classes have an impact on society. As people learn how to loving teach children, learning aptitudes of children increase and child abuse, run-away children, street-children, crime, population and HIV/AIDS reduce.
