There are currently over 700,000 orphans in Mali. They live on the streets and beg for food and subsistance money. Education is a luxury that they do not even dream off. Extended families are willing to take in the orphans, but the economic odds are against them. With a per capita GDP of $560, Mali is one of the poorest countries in the world. This project gives orphans access to an environment conducive to an outstanding physical, mental and intellectual growth.
Project consists of: (1) opening the orphanage in Mali, (2) providing food, health care and education to Malian vulnerable children, (3) purchase and install solar energy, (4) dig a well and install a pump, and produce sustainment food for orphans.
Total Funding Received to Date: $5,907
Remaining Goal to be Funded: $75,134

This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
Providing a home, food, health care and education programs to orphans will allow them to grow and learn in a supportive, loving and nurturing environment. They will grow strong, be part of the human capital, and contribute to Mali's economic growth.
Born in Mali, I was separated from my mother, and raised by my single father. I experienced what it feels like being an orphan in Mali. I founded ACFA to "Bring Hope Malian Orphans"
