No human should ever be enslaved. ITEMP is committed to rescuing those that are trapped in the horror of human trafficking. By providing the support, care and rehabilitative services that each victim requires, ITEMP is able to break the chains, help make them whole once more and build brighter futures. Help us change lives.
Millions of people have had their basic freedom and dignity stripped from them by traffickers. At any given time, there are 214 million child laborers in the world. 127 million are working in hazardous conditions. 12.3 million people are trafficked, and 1.4 million of them are forced into prostitution. These are sisters, brothers, mothers and fathers, and children and they all deserve to be treated with love and respect.
ITEMP provides medical, psychological, legal, social, shelter and education services to victims and their families. ITEMP has a current operating focus in Guatemala, and the USA with past human trafficking / forced labor research activities in several countries in Asia. Soon, with your help, ITEMP will be opening a collaborative victim services project in Europe. By addressing the root causes of trafficking , as well as directly assisting victims, ITEMP is breaking the bitter chains of slavery.
ITEMP searches for long-term, sustainable solutions to the root causes of slavery. By educating a child, by finding employment, providing training, counseling, or supporting alternative income approaches for a woman, or by giving dignity to a man, ITEMP is able to provide the crucial stepping stones to changing lives. In doing so, ITEMP drastically reduces the chance that persons will be victimized or re-victimized. It is not just about treating the symptom, it's about curing the disease.
