What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Scientists conclude that agriculture accounts for 12% of anthrioogenic greenhouse gases (47%methane and 58% of nitrous oxide) Fertilisers under fossil fuel intentive proseses can add up to global warming. Farmers are deciding to sell the lands. Nutrition, healthy environment, livehood is threatened. Climate adapation techniques are lacking in rural areas. Use of chemical inputs adds to the envirnomental hazardes leading to climate change. Immediate action with multiple crooping is also wanting.
How will this project solve this problem?
Rural youth are intrested to learn climate adapation techniques to save agriculture. they will be given 5 days training in biodiverse agriculture for cultivation of pulses, millets, herbals, agroforestry models to mitigate climate to save agri.
Potential Long Term Impact
Threat to agriculture because of climate change will be addressed effectively by biodivers agri models in 150 villages where VOICE is working. Rural youth will follow multipul cropping systems to save agriculture. Spread will reach more villages.
