Dear Beloved Supporters,

We are thrilled to share a heartwarming update on our financial inclusion project for our heroic single mothers & widows in Egypt. Your unwavering support and dedication have made this incredible journey possible, and we cannot wait to tell you all about it.

As part of our ongoing efforts to empower marginalized women, we created a roadmap to provide financial independence to those who needed it the most. To achieve this, we partnered with Banque du Caire on creating a structured groundbreaking program, one that is truly transforming lives. Little did we know, this endeavor would also turn into a transformative experience for everyone involved.

To ensure the success of this initiative and not overwhelm Egypt’s banking system, we divided it into three distinct phases. Each phase was carefully executed, taking into consideration the unique needs of the mothers & demographic we were serving.

But perhaps the most inspiring part of our journey was the third phase, which took place in the most remote villages of Middle Egypt, where the nearest bank locations were often two to three hours away, we decided to bring banking opportunities to their doorstep.

The 'Baseeta' Project was to set up 13 'pop-up' Financial Inclusion events in secure halls & church venues in order to provide mothers everything they needed to open their accounts.

Bank employees played a crucial role here, providing equipment, water/snacks and, most importantly, financial education. These mothers learned not just how to open bank accounts but also how to use them to transact especially through the ATM’s. And for this hands-on course, they introduced ATM simulators as a pivotal part of the events. These simulators, as captured in the photos shared, provided a safe and supportive environment for the mothers to familiarize themselves with ATM machines. Guided by patient and compassionate bank employees, they discovered the tactile and auditory cues that allowed them to navigate the complex world of banking technology.

The sheer determination of these mothers was awe-inspiring. They embraced this education with open hearts and minds, practicing tirelessly on ATM simulators until they could confidently withdraw money, check balances, and handle their finances independently. It was a testament to the incredible strength and resilience of these women. Our volunteers witnessed their beaming smiles as they make their first successful transactions on the ATM simulators, and captured these photos showing the empowerment, self-reliance, and newfound confidence that have transformed their lives forever.

Our ultimate goal was always to preserve the dignity of these brave mothers - to empower them to have their own debit cards and the ability to access their funds independently. No longer do they have to depend on volunteers to provide cash during visits. For many, they can now budget and manage their inheritance from their deceased husbands with full autonomy and confidence.

This project has created a ripple effect of security and peace of mind among these remarkable mothers. They are now in control of their financial destinies, free from the burden and insecurity of dependency. Your generosity has made this possible, and we can never thank you enough.

With every swipe of their debit cards, these mothers are writing a new chapter in their lives, one filled with hope, empowerment, and the promise of a brighter future. Your support has transformed their lives, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

As we move forward on this journey, we invite you to continue standing with us, hand in hand, as we empower more lives and make dreams come true.

Thank you for being a part of this beautiful story. Together, we are making a world of difference.

With heartfelt gratitude,
