Share & SaveMore Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesSchool meals play a critical role in increasing children’s ability to learn. Often, children living in hunger hot spots have severe nutritional deficiencies as a result of chronic hunger. Additionally, many children in hunger hot spots have only one meal a day, and during the hunger months, many children go without meals. School meals can have a positive effect on both children's health and their educational performance. ActivitiesBy adding one nutritionally balanced meal to the school day, children’s attention and energy improve. Additionally, school meals help to ensure that parents send both their girls and boys to school, thereby increasing girls role in the community.
