Clean water for 270 Filipino Villagers
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesCurrently, villagers must walk down and back up steep hills with heavy containers to retrieve water, limiting hygiene, sanitation, and irrigation. Water born illnesses are common and nutrition levels are low. Women must go to the river to do laundry all day, instead of caring for their children, livestock, and vegetable gardens. A ram pump system will alleviate the 270 people living in Tinumpagan of such difficulties, and increase community prosperity and health. ActivitiesThe project uses an innovative hydralic ram pump. Local partner, Alternative Indigenous Development Foundation, Inc. will construct the system together with the community. The community will provide labor and be trained on operation and maintenance.
