Help Persecuted Burmese Refugees
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesInternally Displaced Karen living in Burma close to the Thai border are building two clinics with larger capacity and more needs than the 35 already completed in the 1,000 mile border area. Power is needed for medical procedures, cataract surgery, lighting, computers, refrigeration for vaccine storage, and sanitation of supplies. Up to 100 Karen patients will be able to receive treatment at each site for injuries endured as well as illnesses such as malaria, cataract, and parasites. ActivitiesGreen Empowerment will provide solar systems for two clinics, as well as train surgeons, medics, and repairmen to install and operate the systems. Each system includes 1000watt of solar panels. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $153 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available. Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled $153. The original project funding goal was $42,000.
