By Paula Lucas | Founder & Executive Director
March 15th - May 14th, our Founder & Executive Director, Paula Lucas, traveled to London, Rome, Beirut, Istanbul, Athens, Madrid, Barcelona and Paris. Because of your donations she was able to set up volunteer teams to help weave a Global Safety Net in each city for American victims of violence in those cities.
Madrid was especially successful with not only a volunteer team set up, but a task force that is going to be the site of our first SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) pilot project. This team is being spearheaded by Democrats Abroad in Madrid. The American Society was very instrumental in assisting us in Barcelona. Other groups that assisted were the Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas (FAWCO) Association of Americans Resident Overseas (AARO) American Citizens Abroad (ACA) and multiple others.
With your finanical support, and the on-the-ground support of clubs and individuals, we successfully weaved a global safety net in 7 cities! Thank you!
