“The first time I did it, it was the most calming experience I had ever had in my whole life… TM is something that helps you with your mind, your body and your soul.”
- Annie, a former child prostitute who learned TM at Children of the Night
Thank you for your support of the David Lynch Foundation’s at-risk youth outreach.
Since this project was posted in March 2013, the David Lynch Foundation has taught 23 former child prostitutes bringing the total number of clients at Children of the Night who have learned Transcendental Meditation – a cost-effective, non-religious technique for reducing stress and enhancing intelligence and creativity – to more than 120 since 2010.
All of us at the David Lynch Foundation are thrilled that we had the necessary resources to teach these young people this invaluable tool. A new study, published in the June 2013 issue of the journal Education (Vol. 133, No. 4), found that meditating students were less likely to dropout of school or enter prison and more likely to be accepted to post-secondary institutions.
Looking forward, we anticipate teaching an additional 25 youth residents at Children of the Night this year. We hope you will consider continuing your support of our work with youth across the country.
Again, thank you for your support and interest in the David Lynch Foundation's youth outreach. These young people were able learn Transcendental Meditation, a proven stress-reducing modality, because of the generosity of people like you.
