12 year old Schneida hasn't attended school since the earthquake. Her father, Gilbert, knows how important school is, but he hasn't been able to find work since the earthquake and simply hasn't been able to pay her school fees. Gilbert put it simply to us when we were explaining the programme to him - "If it wasn't for [this programme], Schneida wouldn't be in school." We hope you'll help Schneida go to the 8th grade in 2014 by giving today!
School in Haiti is not free, and if a family cannot pay, their children simply do not attend. Lack of education locks these children in a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only improves children's lives, but strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.
Schneida hasn't been able to go to school because her father has been unable to find work and pay for her education. The cause of his poverty is his own lack of education. Your donations will make the difference between Schneida staying in school and finding a road out of poverty or falling into the same trap which has affected her father. We'll use your donation to pay Schneida 's school fees, provide books, school supplies, and extra support if she needs it. This will be life-changing.
Access to education for children from families who do not have the means to send their children to school means that those children will have the skills they need to find stable jobs and escape the poverty of their families.
