At just six, Negline has already lost her home in the earthquake and experienced extreme poverty. Her mother, Frantzcia, can only find occasional work washing clothing, so she can't afford to send Negline to school. She knows that without an education, Negline will be plagued by the same poverty which has affected her. Donors like you have already provided the funding we need to keep Negline in school throughout 2013. With your help, she'll keep learning when she starts 2nd Grade in 2014!
School in Haiti is not free, and if a family cannot pay, their children simply do not attend. Lack of education locks these children in a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only improves children's lives, but strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.
Negline has lived her whole life in poverty. Your donation will give Negline the education she needs to ensure she can support herself and find a path to security. We'll use your donation to pay Negline's school fees, provide books, school supplies, and extra support if she needs it. The education she'll receive will be life changing.
Access to education for children from families who do not have the means to send their children to school means that those children will have the skills they need to find stable jobs and escape the poverty of their families.
