12 year old Nathaelle was abandoned at birth, so she's lived at an orphanage since she was just 17 days old. Thanks to the hard work of the orphanage directors, Nathaelle has attended school every year since she was just two. Now she's older and the orphanage school isn't able to provide high school classes. So, we're funding her secondary education at a nearby school. Without donors like you, her education would have ended when she was just 12.
School in Haiti is not free, and if a family cannot pay, their children simply do not attend. Lack of education locks these children, and their own future families, into a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only improves children's lives, but strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.
Nathaelle was abandoned by parents who were too poor to care for her. Without an education, she'll be unlikely to escape the poverty she was born into. Your donations will make the difference between Nathaelle staying in school and finding a road out of poverty or staying trapped in a life of insecurity. We'll use your donation to pay Nathaelle 's school fees, provide books, school supplies, and extra support if she needs it. The education she'll receive will be life changing.
Access to education for children from families who do not have the means to send their children to school means that those children will have the skills they need to find stable jobs and escape the poverty of their parents.
