While we didn't meet our goal of giving 20 self-care baskets, because of your donations we were able to provide 9 battered women with self-care baskets. When they received them each said they were overcome with tears. They had not received such a thoughtful gift from anyone in a long time.
These battered women have been in survival mode for so long, not taking care of themselves putting their children first. Here is what one woman wrote to us in an email:
"This is the nicest gift I have ever received. I can't believe strangers gave you money to give me a gift basket. Tell them thank you for making me so happy and believing in the kindness of people again."
We want to thank you for being so generous and for believing in our mission.
Best wishes, Paula
