Daoud's family fled Afghanistan during the Russian take over. His family would have sent him to school in the refugee camps in Pakistan, but they needed him to work. Despite this, the very bright young man managed to graduate high school. After graduation, he got a job with an NGO, and attempted to go to a university at the same time, but was unable. Eventually, Daoud was admitted to a university in the United States where he is currently studying.
Daoud is attending a university in the United States where he is doing quite well academically. We recently learned that Daoud does not have enough money for books or other school related expenses, such as supplies and travel to conferences. We are hoping to raise $1,500 to help him with these expenses.
This project will provide Daoud with $1,500 to pay for book and other school related expenses.
Daoud is a very bright young man. While attending the university, he has become a great ambassador for both his university and Afghanistan, frequently speaking at conferences. During his summers off, he returns to Afghanistan to work with Afghan youth programs. After graduation, Daoud intends to return to Afghanistan and work to make his country a better place.
