Before Musu went to school she used to work at the video club as a child prostitute. When her mother left, she unfortunately dropped out of school again and Musu started to hang out late at night and went back to work at the video club selling herself. She is now 6 months pregnant right now. She wants to help and needs funds to participate in the Promise Project which is targeted for girls in situations like hers to learn skills to support themselves.
In West Point, Liberia, girls, like Musu, are at a high risk of child prostitution and don't have easy access to education and vocational training. Many young girls have been orphaned as a result of the civil war in Liberia and must find ways to provide for themselves. Musu is now 6 months pregnant and needs to learn skills to support herself and her child.
Providing Musu with vocational training in skills that she can use to provide for herself and her child will reduce the likelihood that she will participate in prostitution in the future.
Musu's life will be directly impacted as she will be able to provide for herself and for her family. She will be given a choice in her profession and empowered to change her own life and those around her. She can also serve as a role model other girls in the community.
