Forum for Community Change and Development (FOFCOD) caters for women's needs and also advances women's human rights in south Sudan. We are an organization who believes that ensuring women's full equality and participation in society is one of the most effective ways to build a just, peaceful and sustainable South Sudan. This microproject will jumpstart the beginning of the larger vision for Life Skills training and Improved livelihoods for Marginalized Women with Disabilities in South Sudan.
Women and the Youth in South Sudan face enormous challenges related to occupation, conflict, deep rural poverty, food insecurity and lack of extracurricular activities. During the 20-year civil war, Women with Disabilities and their children in South Sudan have been the most affected members of South Sudanese society. Women with Disabilities in South Sudan have been forced to operate in an environment that is often hostile and influx.
Forum for Community Change and Development (FOFCOD) will collaborate with local leaders, beneficiaries and extension workers to implement a project that will improve the life skills and incomes of poor Women with Disabilities in the rural families of kuda and yei.
Specific objectives I.To alleviate poverty and improve on the standards of living through providing inputs that will enable households to improve production and productivity for improved household incomes and environmental sustainability II.To build the capacity of Women with Disabilities through training courses and demonstrations on life skills training , ICT training, tailoring and better animal and soil management practices to promote self-reliance, improve soil fertility.
