This project will pay school fees for Yuri Hassan to attend a six months training course in fashion and designing and then help him get started as a designer. Yuri was disowned and kicked out of his parent`s home,because of his sex orientation. He then became a victim direct and structural discrimination, persecution and violence. Yuri became a homeless and was adopted by USALAMA HOUSE where he is living now.
This project will help solve the unemployment among LGBT homeless Youth in Tanzania and give an opportunity to Yuri to shape his own future. Ninety percent of LGBT -teens in Tanzania who come out to their parents are disowned and kicked out of their homes,it an "epidemic. They routinely experience direct and structural discrimination, persecution and violence due to lack of awareness of LGBT issues and extensive social stigma, at all levels of government and in society.
By providing valuable education which will help Yuri obtain requisite skills as a fashion designer and later as an entrepreneur to be self employed, employ others and finally reduce unemployment rate among LGBT homeless youth in Tanzania This project will also help eliminate poverty among the LGBT community in Tanzania
Yuri will lead a comfortable and a self sustained life and be able to provide support to other LGBT Youths to grow into responsible citizens which will augur well for the country and the world.
