Today is Global Giving Match Day!
Today, May 13th, GlobalGiving is matching EVERY eligible donation on our Bonus Day! In the first-ever Pro-Rated Bonus Day, the matching percentage will be decided at the end of the day based on this formula: ($75,000/Total Amount Raised) x 100 = Matching Percentage.
Another benefit of this structure is that donors don't have to give early on Bonus Day to get matched!
When we speak about program progress, it is easy to overlook that key to the success of each of project is its ability to have sustained funding. Jobs for Cambodian Youth not only provides jobs for young people in a safe and appropriate environment, but it also allows us to help our college " earn as they learn". In our culture, most of us have held part time jobs to help us during our college years. For our college students, these jobs not only " help", they provide the essential basic living income that allows these students to buy food and small personal supplies while they are attending classes. For most of our college students, they are the " firsts" in their family: first to read, first to finish high school, first in college. The families have no funds to support the students.
For our other young people, our jobs provide teaching and administrative jobs that help to build business skills, team skills and improve their English language skills.
None of this could be possible without the generous support of our donors and we are deeply grateful to you all for your great kindness.
