18 year old Yoline is entering her last year of secondary school - the equivalent of American Highschool. She's spent her childhood with her aunt. Despite making just $1.65 in a factory in Port au Prince, Yoline's aunt always found ways to get her to school. Then tropical storm Isaac and Hurricane Sandy drove the price of food up, and she found herself unable to pay for Yoline's final year of school. With your help, we'll be able to help Yoline complete her last year and get her diploma!
School in Haiti is not free, and if a family cannot pay, their children simply do not attend school. Lack of education locks these children in a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only improves children's lives, but strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.
By donating today, you'll help one young woman who has spent her life surviving on less than $1 a day get her diploma. With that diploma comes the qualifications she needs to build a better tomorrow.
Access to education for children from families who do not have the means to send their children to school means that those children will have the skills they need to find stable jobs and escape poverty.
