Summary

The aim is to provide a livelihood skill to the mothers of child labourers, increase their income and thus ensure the education of children. The mothers will be taught skills in kundan jewellery or vermi compost manufacturing, and will be awarded a completion certificate by the government. We require to mobilise a revolving fund to pay the fees since the families of the child labourers are very poor. The amount you donate for one mom will support many moms in a cycle(possibly 3 a year).

Challenge

The families of the child labourers are very poor and normally their fathers are addicted to alcohol. The less literate/illiterate mothers do not have any other avenues of earning and hence the children are forced to work. The women do not possess skills too. If an additional livelihood opportunity/skill is provided to them, they will earn more. This is expected to provide an congenial atmosphere for the children to learn.

Solution

As the mothers acquire additional skills, they will start earning more. This will stop the children from working and motivate the families to send them to higher school education. Thus the children have ensured education.

Long-Term Impact

The education given to the child labourers will have a long term impact on their wages and health. Also the financial indebtedness will reduce if the children are educated. Hence the community will have a sustainable development in the long run.
