The PAAJAF Foundation will provide motivated, hardworking students like Gilbert with a scholarship for a good quality education in Ghana. PAAJAF's beneficiaries are students who are impoverished, orphaned or neglected and have no other access to education without help in the form of scholarship support from PAAJAF.
Gilbert is 19 years old from an impoverished background, he has just completed 3 years at Senior High School at Nefa Senior High School in the Eastern Region of Ghana. However, in Ghana it is still difficult to get a good job even with a Senior High School certificate. Hence, Gilbert is now looking forward to and motivated to continue his education at University level. His dream is to attend Cape Coast University and become an accountant. He needs support to pay his tuition and living fees.
It was possible for Gilbert to attend Senior High School with the support of generous donors, who helped with not only covering his school fees, but also helped supply him with textbooks, transportation costs, boarding costs and food. Gilbert needs this support to be able to go to University and become a qualified accountant.
After completing JHS, his father passed away leaving his mother as a single parent of 4 children. Not only was this a great shock and loss to the family, but it also meant that Gilbert and his family struggle to afford to send him to University, and without help he will have to remain at home. This microproject will assist Gilbert to gain the qualifications necessary to obtain a good job as an accountant and in this way support his family and bring them out of poverty.
