In each NFTE Chicago classroom, teachers lead students through key hands on training activities designed to spark their creativity and develop their entrepreneurial mindset. Funds will be used to provide students in the classrooms with experiential training seminars designed to help students think outside-of-the-box in an entrepreneurial mindset.
In a rapidly changing economy, today's youth will need valuable skills that can help them embrace opportunities and prepare for successful futures. NFTE's in-depth and unique hands-on approach to entrepreneurship education enables youth from low-income neighborhoods the opportunity to practice and develop important skills like product innovation, opportunity recognition, product innovation, negotiation, market research, business writing and presentation skills.
Each NFTE lesson is delivered through both traditional learning channels (textbook and lecture-based methods) and experiential learning activities. NFTE Chicago provides entrepreneurial training in each classroom - a treasure trove of learning materials that bring NFTE's lessons on sales, marketing, and business financials to life. With $6,000 in funding ($140 per classroom), NFTE Chicago could arm each student with such lessons in the classroom, keeping students engaged in hands-on learning.
This program will teach students the necessary skills to start their ventures as a part of the NFTE curriculum and write their business plans. NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Since 1987 NFTE has worked with over 500,000 students across the U.S. and around the world.
