Our 2014 Back-to-School Drive was our most successful to date; 32,866 low-income students received new supply-filled backpacks. In the Silicon Valley, STEM education is an essential factor in the future success of low-income students. As a part of our STEM kits for grades 6 - 12, each student is given a new scientific calculator.
Adrianna, a seventh grader at Frick Middle School, shares what your donation means to her: "Having supplies and a backpack makes it easier to do my work and I don't feel left out. If I get my supplies late, I do my work late, I turn it in late, and it makes me feel behind." Because of you, students like Adrianna entered the classroom this year confident and prepared to learn. We can't wait to help more students in 2015!
Even though this microproject is retired and no longer accepting donations, you can still make a difference in the lives of low-income Bay Area children through our project "Support STEM Education for 1000 Bay Area Children".
