During the period of the project, University of the People, continued to provide access to higher education for students in around the world, including many women. It worked to promote lower education costs and helped democratize higher education. To date, over 1500 students from 136 countries have been accepted. UoPeople continued to attact grassroots support- with more people showing their support by joining its Facebook page- and continued to attract media attention- appearing in numourous news articles. It worked on its scholarship system, opening a Micro-Scholarship Portal, where donors can help students in need directly, and continued to advocate for the right to education for women and other students.
During the grant period, many new women joined the UoPeople student body while others started the application process. UoPeople also administered a number of corporate scholarship funds for women, awarding scholarships to several female students, while also seeking further corporate support to enable even greater numbers of women to attend UoPeople.
