Emergency Hotel Stays For Sexual Assault Victims

$1,000 $0
Raised Remaining

Because of your generosity, we have already been able to provide emergency hotel stays to three American sexual assault victims overseas!

We can't tell you enough how valuable this program is for victims and how much of a difference your donations make for a victim. To be in a safe place immediately after an assault while they work with one of our case managers is invaluable.

Here is a quote from one of the victims you helped: "It was the worst thing that had ever happened to me. I was alone, afraid and ashamed I had let this happen. I could not believe you put me up in a hotel that night. It was the small silver lining in a terribly dark cloud. Thank you."

We anticipate we will help hundreds of American sexual assault victims in 2014. If you like the work we are doing, please consider becoming a recurring donor to our parent project, Sexual Assault Support & Help For Americans Abroad, between December 20th and December 31st and Global Giving will match your December donation 100% as long as the recurring donation lasts four months.

If you give $25 a month for four months, your $100 becomes $125!

We sincerely thank you for your support and wish you and your loved ones a happy New Year.

Microproject Disclaimer

Every microproject is intended to use the donations it receives in accordance with its stated description; however, it is important to provide project leaders with the flexibility to maximize the potential benefit from the donations they receive. In this event, the project leader is required to post an update to the microproject detailing the results and reasons behind this change.

If you or any other donor is unhappy with the way their funds have been used, he or she can reallocate their donation using the GlobalGiving guarantee.

Global Sexual Assault Prevention & Crisis Response
If you were a victim of Sexual Assault while traveling overseas would you want someone to call who could help? According to the US Department of State over 65 million Americans travel abroad each year eager to explore new adventures in foreign countries. Unfortunately, many become victims of sexual assault. In an expansion of our mission, we are launching our SASHAA Program - Sexual Assault Support & Help For Americans Abroad in response to the increasing number of victims who are reaching out. project reportread updates from the field
