The US undocumented children of immigrants, known as Dreamers, are constrained from attaining the education they desperately desire and need. Following President Obama's declaration on June 2012, some of the issues of Dreamers were resolved, but not all of them. Many Dreamers remain shut out of the opportunity of higher education for financial reasons. The non-profit UoPeople provides tuition-free education for these youth who desire to better their lives. Help all Dreamers receive education.
Dreamers are not being pushed out of America, but they are also not being ensured affordable education. With college education budgets being squeezed, and tuition rates skyrocketing at colleges, many Dreamers are left without options. UoPeople believes everyone has a right to affordable and attainable higher education.
The non-profit University of the People has succeeded in cutting down almost the entire cost of higher education and provides tuition-free quality education entirely online. This feat was made possible by coupling open educational resources, free-use open source technology, peer to peer learning with instructor oversight, and the assistance of volunteers. UoPeople is tuition-free, and only charges $100 per exam. For those who can't afford this nominal fee, we offer scholarships such as this one.
UoPeople is not only servicing all those currently constrained from attaining higher education, but also building a model for governments and universities worldwide to emulate in order to educate even greater numbers of individuals. A significant difference can be made through education and economic opportunity. First it's the improvement of an individual, then a better community, country, and ultimately, the world.
