Beatriz is a woman that lost her leg in an accident in 2006 when she was crossing a railroad, fell down and was hit in her legs by the passing train. She is the mother of two young women and the granddaughter of three beautiful children. Beatriz lives in Puerto Nare, a small city located at the South East of Antioquia, Colombia. When Beatriz receives her prostheses she will be able to walk again, to play with her grandchildren and she will recover her self-esteem.
Losing a leg is an issue that can deeply affect a human being. Beatriz is a woman who needs to free her hands for normal things like showering or putting on her clothes. Not being able to work brings economic consequences but also it brings psychological affections. By losing her mobility, Beatriz has also lost some of her self confidence. The prostheses she needs will allow her to work again and to be an independent woman once more.
The prostheses we want to give her will radically improve their life. It will be a solution to the impediment the crutches generate. With your donation we can help Beatriz to live an easier life and to increase her self-confidence, livelihood and independence.
