This project will provide a full year of education for Florentina. Florentina is five. She was brought to the orphanage by an aunt after her parents abandoned her. She's one of the most exuberant, out-going kids at the orphanage. She loves school - especially when her class sings! With your help, we'll be able to provide her with the education she needs to build a secure future.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
As an orphan, Florentina is among the most vulnerable of Haitian children. There are no free schools in Port au Prince available, so the orphanage must employ its own teachers and run its own school. Lack of education locks kids like Florentina into a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only helps Florentina, but also strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.
How will this project solve this problem?
Florentina has lived her whole life in poverty. She needs a quality education to secure a prosperous future. Your donations will give her that education and set her on the road to a brighter tomorrow.
Potential Long Term Impact
Access to education will give Florentina the skills she needs to find a stable job and escape poverty when she's older.
