Run for UNHCR, Syrian refugee crisis

Syria tears at the hearts of every journalist who covers the story, even those of us who do so from a distance. The suffering is too great for words.
Not long ago at a regional meeting on the crisis, I met UN personnel to discuss the humanitarian crisis. I cant forget their faces filled with horror. They had worked in Darfur, Somalia, Haiti, Sri Lanka. But never had they seen a crisis so fast, brutal, and widespread.
