The fundamental and critical purpose of Venture North Bike Walk Center and Basset Creek Bike Works is to create the opportunity in North Minneapolis for community economic development through jobs and job training in bike shop retail and mechanics. Venture North Bike Walk Center serves children, families and adults who reside in or visit our community by providing biking and walking retail services together with other activity-based educational offerings that will enhance the health and wellbeing of those who are drawn to our center.

Mission

The fundamental and critical purpose of Venture North Bike Walk Center and Basset Creek Bike Works is to create the opportunity in North Minneapolis for community economic development through jobs and job training in bike shop retail and mechanics. Programs

Currently Venture North Bike Walk Center offers 3 programs: 1. Retail Lab Internship - Trains ages 16 to 23 in customer service and working in a retail environment 2. Mechanic Training Program - Trains ages 16 to 23 in bike mechanic certification 3. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics for 4th and 5th grade girls New programs opening up in winter 2012 are Build A Bike for 4th and 5th grade, Earn a bike for 4th and 5th grade, and Bike Mechanics 101.
