Don't Forget!

Mercy & Sharing at Work
Mercy & Sharing at Work

Thank you for coming to our page!

Mercy & Sharing has a 20-year history of tangible achievements with a reputation of humility, compassion, and excellence.

Yes, Haiti has challenges, and Mercy & Sharing offers real and lasting solutions.

Specifically, Mercy & Sharing’s Guardian Angels Promise 126 program, for which this Global Giving challenge was created is a promise to the 126 children in our care at Mercy & Sharing Village, 60 of which are mentally or physically handicapped, to provide 24/7 care 365 days a year, including food, shelter, medical care, rehabilitation, education, hope, and opportunity.

Guardian Angel Promise 126 program seeks sponsors to help cover the approximate $6,000.00 per year, per child to provide 24/7 care. With the giving levels from $38, $50, $75, $125, $250 and $500, we believe that all 126 children will be fully funded. Here is cause for celebration: 72 children are fully or partially funded to date.  We would like to invite this challenge to also give a hand up to 54 children who aren't funded.

For example, Mercy & Sharing received one child into our Promise 126 Program.  He was diagnosed with down’s syndrome and arrived in a very weakened condition, and could not sit or be alone.  Today, however, he is active, walking on his own, and happy alone or with company.   The transformation in this one child is life changing and a true blessing for everyone.  Thank you!

The infrastructure is in place – the physical building, skilled professionals, and the will and capacity to help exists.  All that is missing is desperately needed funds.  Would you please consider partnering with us today? Each donated dollar makes a direct impact.

Because our Board of Directors cover all U.S. admin costs, 100% of your donation will reach Haiti and directly support the children in our care.

Mercy & Sharing knows you are most alive when you express your love!

The expression of that love will change the world we leave our children together we can change a nation one child at a time.

Progress!

Happy Children
Happy Children

Dear Friends,

Your ongoing support and generosity continues to amaze and humble us!

The 2013 – 2014 school year began after a month of improvements were completed:

  • A fresh coat of paint was added to the outside walls of the school buildings.
  • Images of brightly painted happy characters where added to the sides of the building.
  • New school benches, tables and desks were purchased and installed.
  • In addition to the building and school furniture improvements, kitchen plates and utensils were replaced.
  • Each child is provided a hot nutritious meal each day.
  • Additional improvements to the kitchen area are underway with plans to freshen up the space with fresh paint, replace the broken tile floor and improve the countertops.

The water well is fully functional and not only serves the children of the John Branchizio school, but the surrounding community of Cazeau has access to clean drinking water as well.

Your continued support and generosity will allow us to begin to address serious flooding issues that occur during periods of heavy rain.

The John Branchizio School continues to excel in educating over 600 students in Pre-K through 11th grade, with quality teachers and an exceptional Director.

As one of the top 10 schools in the Tabarre area of Port-au-Prince, the improvements to the outside of the buildings and the grounds, new school furniture and kitchen wares, the students have a safe and inviting school in which to excel.

Thank you for making a HUGE difference for the students of the John Branchizio School!

It is your compassion and generosity that deeply impacts the lives of these children, each and every day.

Warmest regards,

The Entire Team at Mercy & Sharing

Hope for Abandoned Babies

Dear Friends,

You are giving hope to abandoned children in Haiti!  Thank you!

We are excited to announce that Mercy & Sharing is re-establishing the Abandoned Baby Triage Center!  Mercy & Sharing operated the Abandoned Baby Triage Center at the HUEH (Haiti’s University and Educational Hospital) in Port-au-Prince from 1995 to 2010.  We stepped in to help because little or no care was being provided for abandoned children at the HUEH.  Kids of all ages with nowhere to turn were left to die in a small room.  Because of Mercy & Sharing, hundreds of innocent children survived!  Mercy & Sharing supplied clean water, baby formula, food, medicines, and beds to children who had been abandoned.   Following the earthquake of 2010, the Abandoned Triage Center was discontinued when the building was damaged.  32 children were moved to a local children’s home as a part of the earthquake relief effort.  Since the earthquake, however, this children’s home has not agreed to take in more children, nor has the Haitian government reinstituted the Abandoned Baby Triage Center.  For over 2.5 years, children left on the grounds of the government hospital have had no one to care for them and no place to turn.

Mercy & Sharing has been asked by the Haitian Social Services to reinstitute the Abandoned Baby Triage Center! Mercy & Sharing will provide:

  • Formula, food, shelter, diapers, and medical care
  • Clean living conditions and sufficient bedding for the children
  • Trained staff to care for the abandoned children
  • Placement referrals through IBESR to reputable orphanages

In addition to the re-opening of the ABTC, Mercy & Sharing is also making plans to expand the medical clinic at Mercy & Sharing Village.  We want to continue to provide the best possible care for the 126 orphans living there as well as extend this care to the local community of Williamson.  We plan to retrofit an ambulance and take it into the community to offer basic clinical services!

We are so thankful for your support! Your gifts have made these new efforts possible!  Because of you, we have been able to provide first-rate medical care for precious children and lay the groundwork for expansion.

Thank you!

Louis
