Happy New Year! As we enter 2012, we are so grateful for all the support we've received from you, our generous donors. We exceeded our expectations in the Global Giving Open Challenge, earning a permanent spot in partnership with their organization, and we have raised important funds that will allow us to provide critically-needed arts-based literacy programs in our region. THANK YOU!
A few of the places that will immediately benefit from your generous gifts:
We hope you find this partnership valuable and worthwhile. We are going to keep raising the bar as the more money we raise the more programs we can offer. We know the economy is tough, so thank you for investing your hard-earned money on our cause. Please consider telling your friends and family about our project - share the link on your blogs or social networks, use the tell-a-friend feature on the project page to email your network, or just bring us up in conversation. You know your friends and family best, so use your own words - tell them why you chose our project and what it means to you.
We will keep you updated on further programs we are able to provide through your support with ongoing project reports. We invite you to visit our website where you can view our public calendar, see video clips of past programs, and learn more about our artistic and administrative teams. Please also look for an updated donor page on our website www.storytapestries.com which will list all of our supporters by name! Furthermore, by visiting our website, or by sending an email to administrator@storytapestries.com, you can request to start receiving e-newsletters now, if you are not already a subscriber.
Additonally, several donors expressed confusion over the phrase, the DC Metro Area. We want to let you know that we have updated the wording on our project to make it clearer as our programs organizations in Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to sharing with you as we combat illiteracy in 2012!
Best wishes for the new year,
Arianna Ross and
the Story Tapestries Team

Success has shown us that the time has come to reach for the sky and raise our limits.
With days left of the Open Challenge, we reached our initial project goal of $6000 and we have secured a permanent spot on the Global Giving Website. However, as many of you already know, the more money we raise the larger number of children and adults we can Give the Gift of Literacy to. We have the staff and the artists ready to serve as many communities as we are able to support. Therefore, we have increased our funding goal by $3000 to $9000. This increase in funding will allow us to reach more than 565 students, 22 teachers and 848 parents in the greater DC metro area with arts programs that teach the building blocks of learning to read and write. Remember a donation from you will help to end generations of illiterate families.
HELP us continue to collect donations as part of our "Teaching Literacy through the Arts" project up through December 31 by spreading the word to anyone you think might wish to help.
As we celebrate the holidays and the end of 2011, we are feeling very grateful for such a successful year - THANK YOU for being a part of it!

We are so excited to announce that we have officially met the Global Giving Open Challenge with more than 50 unique donors having given more than $4,000 in total. We have now earned a permanent spot on the Global Giving site, which is a wonderful opportunity for future fundraising efforts - thank you for helping us accomplish this significant goal! Now, we are focusing on our programming goal - we need $6,000 to be able to reach children, teachers and parents in the DC metro area community. We have until December 31 to raise funds for these valuable literacy building programs. Will you help us spread the word?
Your continued support is appreciated by us, and by all who will be reached with these programs!
We feel so blessed and wish you and yours wonderful holiday celebrations! We will keep you informed about our progress as we work towards our $6,000 goal by December 31st!
THANK YOU!!!!
