After being at home for one year, Kerubo who has been facing school fees challenge has managed to secure a position in form four. She showed a spirit of hope and trust as she went back to school. Kerubo has been dreaming to become a doctor who will serve the community she was happy sharing how she will be working hard to achieve her goals and dreams. A very determined young girl focused to serve. “You look determined and much disciplined girl. We trust and hope that you will make it to the highest level as Juhudi has made you proud. We thank them for the good work that they are doing to support teenage girls who are at the risk of dropping out of school” Said the principal of her school. Kerubo’s school fees has been paid by Juhudi and we trust this was a great turn point for this young girl.

Children get happy

On 16th of June every year is the day of an African child. This year Juhudi brought together more than 400 children from 5 schools. The month of June is one of the hardest months in this area as many families cannot cater for the food of their children. Most families take their children to work in the farms exposing them to child labor. Juhudi used this special day and brought the children to have fun play and share meals together on 14th of June. Many people came out to support this great work of Juhudi which sees many children smiling and being happy with meals. “Am very happy that Juhudi comes for our rescue all the time when we are in hard situations. We appreciate all those behind this great work for us”Said Nyakindi 13 years old boy.

Having undergone the challenge of violence, majority of over 50 children who have been counseled has really captured the training very well. Children have been able to talk openly on how they have been feeling of the other children and community that attacked them. “Am happy for this great exercise that has helped me to be the way I am now. I feel good and taken care off. I have been feeling very bad with negative attitude towards my friends from the other community. More of this will bring us together as children and we will be able to live as one family. Thank you for the support. Am happy that we played together and sung good songs” This was a great message from one participant who attended the counseling sessions.
