Programs

Our current initiative is to purchase the historic 1849 railroad station with the Pepsi Refresh grant that we won in August 2011. Overall, the Nicholson Heritage Association's effort is to purchase, renovate, and rehabilitate the more than 160 year old rail station into an innovative community/visitors center and a gateway to the Viaduct Valley Way Scenic Byway. The Viaduct Valley Way Scenic Byway runs through the heart of Nicholson and is designated portions of Route 92 in Pennsylvania's Wyoming and Susquehanna Counties that has breathtaking views of Fall Foliage, the Tunkhannock Viaduct in Nicholson, and the Starrucca Viaduct in Lanesboro. We are also exploring innovative partnerships and approaches to the historic preservation of this station, which was previously the center of the community, with local, state, and federal partners and other organizations.
