Kids4Kenya Raising Funds through local initiatives

Car Wash!!
Car Wash!!

Kids4Kenya has been hard at work in the fall raising funds through local initiatives in Baltimore, MD for the benefit of African Promise and it's continuing build out of Primary Schools in the Kasigau region.

In September we held a Car Wash that raised over $1,100 in just a few hours of hard work and soap! Check out the video ! On Saturday 6th September, we were Raking Leaves in the neighborhood and raised over $450 in no time.

We are also proud to have two new sponsor on board; Teuten Risk Consulting and Live Now!

Look out for our Christmas Gift selections on the Kids4Kenya website, and help make Christmas a joyful time for those in most need.

It's all about the kids....... check us out on TV and see how the Children are making a real difference!

African Promise goes from strength to strength

The Kids!
The Kids!

African Promise is hard at work on the ground in Kenya and is about to start work on its sixth location at Kisimenyi. Check out the link to the the Summer 2010 update video. It gives a brief but powerful insight into what we've been up to over the last 12 months in Kenya and some plans for the next 12.

Kids4Kenya and African Promise are still in need of your help as we expand our reach and the children that benefit from the efforts of the program.

Get involved, be a part of the initiative and help make the lives and prospects of so many innocent and deserving children be what they can, and should, be.

African Promise Update Spring 2010

Ready for the next step...

Two years on: more schools, another big step for Charles, a UK office, a UK team…

It's just two short years since African promise founder Charles Coldman took the biggest step of his life and moved to Kenya to begin directing the work of African Promise on the ground in Kenya. Now, with the charity well on its way to transforming the five Kasigau primary schools, having built a local team to oversee the work and with a reputation for making change happen, African Promise is ready to take the next step.

Five schools is soon to become six, six will become seven by mid 2011. In time, seven will become many, many more.

To realize this vision, African Promise is changing. From July we will take occupancy of some space in a shared London office and, assisted by volunteers, we will seek to drastically raise our profile and fundraising activities in the UK and elsewhere. I will return from Kenya, leaving the day-to-day management of our operations there to our local managers, in order to over-see the establishment of our presence in the UK.

We will still be small. We will still be effective. We will still be efficient. But we’re ambitious. We’re making a real difference to the futures of hundreds of school children and we want to do the same for many, many more. We believe we can.

I want to thank the many friends of the charity who have helped us get to this stage. We couldn’t have done it without you. These are exciting times for everybody involved with African Promise and we hope you will stay with us as we continue to grow and develop.
